We caught an early morning flight from Manchester to Nice, along with around 200 Northern Ireland supporters flying out for their opening Euro 2016 match with Poland (coincidence Mr G!!) with Will Griggs is on fire being sang for the entire journey!!!
On arrival we jumped in a taxi to Cannes (God knows why we didn't hire a car) and checked in to a lovely hotel called Hotel Le Majestic Barriere on the Croisette. The hotel was fabulous, offering a private beach, champagne bar and the perfect location for the boutiques of Rue d'Antibes.
We unpacked then headed out for lunch and to see the sights. We didn't venture far and decided to eat basically next door at the Armani Cafe, we also had a few cocktails :)
St Tropez was calling us so the following day we hired a car and drove down (what an experience!!) I had visions of a really lovely picturesque drive along the coast- how wrong was I!!! Although the latter part of the journey was really beautiful, it did include many a topsy turvy, terrifying, holding on for dear life, what felt like near death experiences up the hills/ mountain tops.
Once we arrived a stiff drink or 2 was needed!! We visited the Dior Cafe on the Place de Lices for lunch, stopped for drinks by the port and of course did a little shopping in the gorgeous boutiques. I will definitely be revisiting. xxx
We also had a walk along the beach, visited a few other bars and did a little shopping.
At night we went out for dinner then had a few drinks in the champagne bar .
The following morning was spent on the private beach, where we also had a gorgeous lunch in the beach house cafe. Our plans were to go to Monte Carlo after lunch and for the evening but we ended up meeting up with friends at the Martinez Hotel so decided we would go to Monte Carlo on another occasion. We also visited Baoli beach club.
