BOYFRIEND JEANS

With the skinny jean ship having sailed this season  (but i'll still be wearing mine, my ultimate fave type of jean) Boyfriend jeans are my go to this Spring/Summer.

Looser, lighter and lower than my normal favoured type but a great alternative.
I've recently bought a few pairs of boyfriend jeans since late autumn and also some girlfriend jeans - whats the difference in boyfriend and girlfriend??  Girlfriend are slightly higher and not as baggy and more tapered at the bottom- i'll be blogging more on girlfriend jeans soon.

As I practically live in skinnies, trying on the boyfriend cut was an experience and I quickly dismissed due to the bagginess.
Initially I wasn't loving the slouchy, relaxed fit but it has definitely grown on me and I usually take in a size smaller and wear a fitted or tapered style on the top half.

I do think the looser style makes me look bigger than I am, although this may be just in my head as I'm so used to to wearing skinnies but I do like the relaxed look that boyfriend jeans give.

Boyfriend jeans can be dressed up or dressed down and equally look as good in trainers as heels, but I feel always give off the casual relaxed vibe.

WHITE SHIRT & DENIM

During my last post (Maxi Dress see here) I realised that I have a love for simple, easy to throw together, no fuss, minimum effort pieces.

Lately my day to day style has been ultra casual, opting if I'm honest for comfort over style.....
Yes we all know heels, glamorous and well thought out outfits look a zillion times better, but in all honestly, I sometimes (like lately) just cannot be ars*d!

I love nothing more than just throwing on some trainers and just making my outfit work regardless.
As well as living in my trainers, basics have also become my staple wardrobe essentials such as plain t shirts and shirts, purely for the simplicity and can be worn with a variety of outfits, dressed up or down for different looks.
(I will actually blog more about my essential basics )

Everyone has (or should have) a plain white shirt in there wardrobe. I do love a plain shirt, simple, versatile and never goes out of fashion.
The Shirt I'm wearing is from Zara from about 3 years ago. Initially I had it tucked in, but then it was so creased I decided to tie it at the front.

I am wearing with a A line denim skirt with a variety of different shades of washed denim and buttons down the front.
Now we all remember the denim skirts we used to wear in the late 90's early 00's when growing up. Thank goodness those tight, rectangle like, low waisted shapeless ultra minis haven't found their way back in.

I do love denim though and love how it also works so well in other shapes. I will follow this post up in a few weeks of other shaped, longer denim skirts that I have for a totally different look.

I added my plain white adidas superstars to this look as I had a busy day and knew i'd be doing a lot of walking, but equally would of looked ok with sandals or pumps.

THE BASIC MAXI

The sun has had its hat on for the last few days -hurray!!!

A really easy item of clothing to wear in the sunshine is a basic jersey maxi dress and I'm pretty sure most people have one tucked away.
It is the perfect item for minimum fuss, minimum effort days that we all love.  I'm wearing here with a leather fringed waistcoat and plain white adidas superstar trainers for a casual look.

With the fabric being cotton and light it is also perfect for holidays. Definitely suitable for walking along the beach, exploring the hotel or going for breakfast.

Simple Easy Contour Makeup Tutorial | Hayley Gallagher

When I blogged about the Clinique Chubby contour stick a few months ago, a lot of my friends bought it.

Since I also used it in my last video more people texted and mentioned that they would like to see more of it.

So yesterday part way through my normal make up I decided to get the camera out a film a quick and easy contour video.

It really is as basic as it comes with this stick - literally just draw it on and blend. It is super easy to blend in, just glides on, is oil free and will last in your make up bag for ages.

Clinique also do the matching highlighter in the chubby stick range.

I really love this collection for ease, speed and it is perfect for ultimate beginners.

Hope you like the vid :)

PS. I will try and hold my products up in shot better - i'll master this soon!!

Also let me know of any other videos you would like to see, or any specific products, palettes or colours you would like me to use (I prob have in my collection) by text, comments, instagram, tweet or snapchat.

BRETON STRIPES

Now spring is finally upon us, it was time for the breton stripes to also make an appearance.

Spring is the perfect time to wear stripes and a breton striped top is definitely one of my favourite looks and looks great with dark wash denim as well as the more favoured combination of navy, red or white.

Stripes are often perfect for a casual every day look with jeans and flats or even trainers, but can equally be dressed up by simply adding a blazer and pair of heels for a more parisian effortless glam look.

Alternatively I'm wearing here with a black high waisted jeans and black leather fringed waistcoat.
