JANUARY FAVOURITES

So January is almost over (longest month everrrrrr!) I thought I would put together a list of things I have loved this month.

Lean in 15 Book      I'm all about getting lean this year not necessarily losing weight. This book is fab at creating lean healthy meals in 15 mins. Also has a great quick HIIT workout section. Bosh!

Plaits             I'm trying to grow out a fringe so Plaits and mohawk plaits have been my go to hairstyle this month. Yes I look like a child but needs must. I don't rock it quite as well as a Kardashian but who does?

Jumper dresses     Quick and easy to throw on, add a pair of ankle boots or over the need boots and you're good to go. Misguided, Boohoo and Asos have some fab ones and some great sales on right now.

Gwen Stefani Palettes     I've had the eyeshadow palette since it came out last month and I love it, I am sure I've blogged or mentioned it before, but I'm still loving it and wear most days. I have since bought the Blush palette and it is equally as fab.
Parka Jackets        Easy to wear with jeans and trainers for a casual look. I have a couple and love the ones with a extra large fury hood.  I have ones with a Natural coloured fur and also a red fur and blue fur.

Pom Pom hats    To hide the fringe!

Charlotte Tilbury Eye Crayons   As it says... crayons for the eyes. Crayon and go - fool proof as well as crease proof and long lasting.

Big Brother   It has just been fantastic again this year. I would possibly go as far as to say the best one yet. I am addicted and watch every night without fail. There has been some real car crash, television gold moments this year- love it!

BOOTS

It is fair to say that this season I have been living in boots. I'm normally a flat boot kind of gal but this season has seen me opting for the more dressed up, chunky heeled variety. When Dior revealed the perspex heel range - I was actually in love and literally had them on my birthday list.  Then a few weeks later I noticed that Public Desire had created a dupe! yay!!!

Ok, so they are not identical but neither is the price tag and at £39.99 I'm not really bothered, I know I will be much less annoyed if they turn out to be a one season fad than I would if I was paying Dior prices.

I ordered a grey pair and also a nude pair and I think they look really well with a day dress.

As well as the perspex heel the tortoise heel has also been equally popular. I also purchased a pair from Public Desire in Black and also the same from Topshop in cream earlier in the season.

Over the knee boots are a favourite of mine and instantly make me feel that little bit more glam. They are also so versatile as they look great with a dress for an evening look, a dressed down day dress or even paired with jeans and a top. My over the knew boots are grey from Stuart Weitzman.

My absolute favourite boots though are my Isabel Marant suede and leather boots, I wear these all the time, you've probably noticed if you follow me on Instagram. I also bought another cream pair from Zara this week with a lower heel, I will blog and post pictures soon once I've had a chance to wear them as it will be spring before we know it :)

HARVEY NICHOLS LUNCH

For some strange reason this post did not upload a few weeks ago .... so here it is.. lets try again.

Last Sunday Paul and I decided to go to Manchester for a couple of hours shopping and a bite to eat.
Whilst in Harvey Nichols we decided to have a quick pit stop in the Brasserie for a cocktail before  eating later.

Paul suggested that we get a quick bar snack to tie us over til dinner.
The brunch menu was still available so he ordered Eggs Benedict...then after browsing further he noticed that as it was Sunday they also did a Sunday Roast.

It was a little early in the day for a roast dinner .......but we ordered one each! It was gorgeous and I will definitely be returning for another.

The weather was quite mild so I wore a knitted dress from Boohoo, Isabel Marant boots and a leather jacket from Zara

MUMS BIRTHDAY

On Monday it was my mums birthday. As she already had plans to celebrate with her friends during the day, she decided to celebrate with a family meal the night before on Sunday night.

As it was not a special birthday she decided on a low key meal at a local Italian restaurant.

My dad, brother, sister in law and husband joined us to celebrate with her. It was a really lovely night with great food, and plenty of champagne.
I decided on an all black outfit. The blouse is from Diesel and the Waxed trousers are from Misguided. Again I'm wearing my trusty classic Lanvin heels that go with most things.

I was not feeling great this night and was having a bad hair day..... the next day drastically getting it cut and a fringe cut in..(which I hate)... Now looking back at the pic there was nothing wrong with it ....Just why oh why did I do that, what was I thinking???? :(  whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

GODDESS SKIN

A couple of months ago I decided to change my skin care routine. I was quite a fan of a few of Charlotte Tilbury's signature looks that I had previously bought ... 'The Golden Goddess', 'The Rock Chic' and my favourite 'The Dolce Vita'. I was so happy and impressed with the makeup products so I decided to try the skincare.

I went to Selfridges In Manchester and the sales assistant recommended the Magic Cream and the Goddess skin clay mask.

I explained her that I am not normally a fan of masks especially the clay style, hard drying, cracking ones as I hate that feel on my skin. She assured me that this mask did not dry (due to the sweet almond oil) and tested it on the back of my hand for around 5 mins (talking me into buying 2 additional products - obviously! .. The Brow lift pencil and The Feline Flick liquid eyeliner)

After 5 mins I noticed that the mask was in fact still wet and creamy :) she wiped it off and OMG I was sold there and then!! The skin on my hand was so baby soft and literally glowing. I had to have it!.
I decided to buy The Gift of Goddess Skin Set which includes the Magic Cream, The Goddess Clay mask and Wonderglow which is a fluorescent core light diffuser the steals UV light from its surroundings and re-emits it as skin luminosity to transform dull skin.

The set is quite expensive at £150, but the Clay mask is worth its weight in gold. I use it twice, sometimes 3 times a week and still have loads left. It aims to leave skin baby soft, tight and bright.  It is, in my opinion the greatest product of the complete Charlotte Tilbury range and is available to purchase individually at £45.  I would definitely recommend this to everyone and I'm sure you will love it as much as me. It is AMAZE!! xx

WHAT IS IN MY BAG

Whilst rummaging through many bags to find my diary, I decided that I would do a 'Whats in my bag' style post. Literally, I carry my life in my bag (probably why I have so many knots in my shoulders due to carrying such heavy bags) and I really couldn't show or post the true contents of any bag!! This is mainly down to being a mummy and the endless supply of children's necessities, juice bottles, spare nappies, dummies half eaten items and copious amounts crumbs.

So this naturally will be a sugar coated version :)
I am somewhat an avid bag enthusiast and I can really appreciate a wonderful bag! My usual go to bag is my black Stella McCartney, I have had it absolutely years, it goes with everything and I never tire of it. I should of actually used it for this post- Dope!! But I've currently been using this Winter Rose coloured Gucci bag that was a Christmas gift.

Make up

I have so much make up it is insane!! I also collect make up bags (don't we all)
I always carry a little makeup bag in my bag - Just in case!! In here I just carry the bare basics, which allows a quick and easy application technique, lipstick, gloss, blusher etc. I never carry foundation or many eye products. To be honest once I've applied my make up in the morning I never need to top up, and I really can't be bothered! The only thing I really top up is lipstick or gloss, and I do, do this constantly :)
Lipstick - Nude - Obvs!  Creme de Nude, Zen, Hue or Creme Cup by Mac are my go to shades.
Gloss - Fulfilled by Mac is my absolute Fave.
Easy Contour/ Highlighter -  These Chubby stick style contours and highlighters by Clinique are so easy and perfect could u need to apply on the go.
Eyeliner - Clinique - literally the softest and easier liquid liner I've ever used. I religiously used Charlotte Tilbury Calligraphy liner but this is soooooo much softer and easier
Blush. - Nars
Highlighter Becca
Eye Crayons Charlotte Tilbury - Just crayon on, fab!

Backcombing Brush.
A necessity if you hate having flat hair!

Louis Vuitton Diary.
I was gifted this diary for my birthday a couple of years ago from a friend. It is personalised inside with my initials. I love it, and love the fact it can be used year after year, all you need to do is purchase the current years inserts.

Sunglasses
Another thing I collect is sunglasses. I always have a pair in my bag and a pair or two in the car. Currently in my bag is my favourite and latest pair of glasses by Porsche Design, I love them as they come with interchangeable lenses.

 Perfume
I've been using Armani Si perfume lately so thats in the bag, as is Molton Brown hand cream and antibacterial gel- which I just remembered my daughter was using earlier so its not on the picture.. keep the germs away.

Camera
Now that I am aiming to blog more I am starting to take out my camera instead of using my iPhone

Iphone
Used for everything except ringing, mainly keeping up to date with social media and online shopping.

Purse
keys
And lots and lots of other rubbish

Knitwear

Now that the temperature is finally dropping a favourite trend of mine this type of year is knitwear. There is nothing more that I love than putting on a warm and cosy chunky knit jumper and slouching on the sofa.
I know some people refrain  from wearing knitwear for fear of looking oversized and for want of a better word 'Chunky" but knitwear doesn't always have to be ill fitted and sack like.

I love all kinds of knitwear from light soft knits, chunky knits to the knitted dress.

The knitted dress being my favourite, it is great for teaming with over the knee boots for a more dressed up look suitable for day or night. I have bought most of mine from Misguided, River Island and Hotmess.

There is a great selection of knitwear available on the high street right now, many of it in the sale ready for the new transitional season stock, but as we're only in Janurary I think you'll still get a good few months of wearing it. xx

JANUARY BLUES / SANTORINI DREAMING

With all this dreadful rain and the devastation of all the flooding, I find myself dreaming of warmer, sunnier climates.

I stumbled over a throwback picture on my instagram of my time in Santorini in June.

It really was the most beautiful, tranquil place that I  have ever seen in my life.

We actually booked a week in Mykonos but decided whilst there to  island hop over to Santorini for 3 days.

It was really easy to do and only cost 40 Euros on the high speed ferry. It was the best decision that we ever made.

Whilst in Santorini we stayed in Imerovigli. The island is really tiny and you can see the whole of the island from wherever you

All of the hotels seem to be boutique style hotel,  small and personal with very few rooms.

I love that aspect as it does feel more special and really looked after.
I also loved that all meals ordered were delivered straight to our room terrace.

I think that Santorini is a fantastic place to visit if you are looking for a really quiet peaceful, relaxing few days.

It is so tranquil and romantic, so it is a perfect place for a honeymoon to relax and not do much else.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year everyone!!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and new year.
We had a wonderful Christmas, we had our Christmas Lunch in the restaurant of a local hotel.

We always spend every Christmas with our close family, usually at our house. This year though, we decided to go out just the 5 of us.
I was really looking forward to just spending it with my little family, but it just didn't feel right. I really missed everyone.

Next year I will definitely be spending it with all the family , probably cooking for everyone.
After all Christmas is all about Family!!

On New Years Eve we went with family to an Indian Restaurant, then came home and celebrated with our neighbours. I wore a black sequinned mid length dress from misguided. I teamed it with Lanvin heels.

2015 has been a great year for us. It seen us visiting some wonderful places Dubai, Orlando, Miami, Mykonos, Santorini, Barcelona and Venice to name a few, getting a doggy, adding a few more properties to our portfolio, Ava starting preschool, Paul getting promoted, finally signing for Preston after 18 months on loan and finding out I'm going to be an auntie next summer!! Lets hope 2016 is just as fantastic. xx
